With over 10 years within FMCG, Ridhwaan has strong, cross-functional business experience. With a solid commercial base, he began as a Customer Development graduate at Unilever, moving on to managing global customers like Carrefour and Tesco, which consisted mainly of global contract negotiations and joint-value creation projects, managing over '3bn worth of global sales. The latter, comprised various sustainability topics and joint initiatives, from regenerative agriculture, to plastic pollution, women's empowerment and better nutrition, all aimed at building consumer-engaging stories and changing consumer behaviour. Since 2020, he has been consulting on a plethora of ESG topics for many of Unilever's brands, in over 70+ cells globally. This is within an accelerator framework and about building purposeful actions and citizen movements, that have a positive environmental and social impact and equally, grow the business. Building on this experience, he has since completed courses on the Circular Economy and sustainability strategies, with both the Universities of Cambridge and Exeter and will start a part-time Masters programme at the University of Cambridge's Institute for Sustainability Leadership (Stage 1), commencing in July 2023. He is motivated therefore, to make positive environmental and social impact at scale and believes this can be best achieved, via the commercial sector, in driving major changes globally.
