Greta has spent the last four years working in cross-functional teams to develop web-based GIS platforms. These platforms have been instrumental in decision-making involving biodiversity conservation, climate change, and sustainability. Collaborating closely with academic researchers and NGOs, she currently holds the position of Head of Earth Science at Cervest. Greta's work primarily revolves around integrating scientific evidence into decision-making products and fostering an Earth Science community. Her mission is to democratize scientific knowledge through technology, and she believes that bringing stakeholders of diverse backgrounds together can augment critical and analytical thinking. During her tenure with the Half-Earth Project, Greta led the scientific and data aspects of product design and technology migration, spearheaded the backend architecture design, and managed communication materials and web app development. Prior to her current roles, Greta was a university researcher, a conservation NGO volunteer, and completed a PhD on alien species forecasting in Antarctica at King Juan Carlos University (Madrid). She also holds an MSc in Evolutionary Biology and a BSc in Ecology. Greta has collaborated with institutions worldwide, gaining vast knowledge in ecology and evolution, and participating in challenging fieldwork in diverse locations such as Antarctica, the West Indies, the Amazon, and the Gabonese rainforest.
