Emily is a seasoned environmental professional with a vivid background in biodiversity and sustainable energy. She formerly served as a senior policy advisor at DEFRA, where her primary role included leading the Biodiversity Net Gain team with a particular focus on advancing the biodiversity metric. Currently, Emily is undertaking a doctorate at the University of Southampton. Her research is centred around the impact of future land use changes on local biodiversity and the implementation of renewable energy solutions. Moreover, Emily harbours a keen interest in various sustainability aspects such as green infrastructure, urban ecology, sustainable finance, and international Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
